Katie Price Equestrian – Where’s Wallace?

by Admin on September 5, 2009

Only days after appearing on ITV1’s flagship daytime television programme This Morning and declaring to the world her relationship with cage-fighter Alex Reid is more than a fling, Katie Price has also appeared in Country Life Magazine’s latest poll of influential Brits. The Queen still flies the flag proudly at number one spot whilst Katie Price rides into 100th place for her achievements as an ambassador for equestrian sports.

Katie Price will no doubt be looking to move up the rankings next year, and to demonstrate her renewed focus on all things equestrian she returned from a trip to international rider Laurens Van Lieren’s with the new purchase of Wallace, a 6yo black gelding by Rubiquil out of a mare by Sultan. Wallace is said to be travelling to Andrew Gould’s yard in Sussex next week with a view to getting the horse out on the competition circuit as quickly as possible.

Regular readers of horserugs.me.uk may recall that Katie Price was recently seen out in the lanes of Sussex in a large pink horse lorry. If it turns up at a competition near you the chances are that Wallace has arrived!

Those who prefer their events a little more grand may be down at The 2009 Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials this weekend. Katie Price will be making an appearance at the Celebrity Talk area at 1pm on Sunday, 6th September signing KP Equestrian products. The product signing comes ahead of the unveiling of the KP Equestrian product range later this month. Early reports have suggested that there will be a whole host of new styles and looks being added to the KP Equestrian range.

This would seem to go against the established mantra of the KP Equestrian range which said you could have the product in any colour as long as it was pink! There are almost certainly horses across the country neighing a sigh of relief today that their days of being clad in pink horse rugs is nearing an end!

Pippa Funnell author of Tilly's Tails

Pippa Funnell author of Tilly's Tails

Many of our readers at horserugs.me.uk will know Pippa Funnell; quite rightly regarded as one of the equestrian world’s greatest sports stars. And on the weekend that once again plays host to the The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, it is worth remembering that Pippa Funnell is the only person ever to have won the three day eventing Rolex Grand Slam securing back-to-back victories at Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley.

Pippa Funnell has shown as much dynamism off the horse as she has shown on it. Not only has she put pen to paper and written her compelling autobiography but she has also sought to share her knowledge on how to train, exercise and jump horses in a wonderful series of books that are available in our Pippa Funnell Store.

At horserugs.me.uk we feel we sometimes take things a little bit too seriously. There are times when even we must stop researching about all things horse rugs and enjoy ourselves a little. It’s at these times when we reach for our Nintendo DS and fire up Pippa Funnell: Take the Reins. If you love horses you’ll love this.

We want you to find out for yourself how good it is. You get a chance to care for your horse, something we here at horserugs.me.uk feel very strongly about.

The game takes place in a training academy where you can practice your dressage, show jumping, cross country or chat with your class mates. If your class mates like you, you look after your horse well and your riding improves then you’ll be entered into an event with the big aim of getting into the championship! As if that’s not enough then you’ll get a new born foal to play with, look after and train! Brilliant for spending even more hours inside playing with horses when you’re not outside being with them!

There are plenty more Pippa Funnell horse and pony video games out there and we’re sure that there is one for everyone! Why don’t you give one and go and let us know how you got on!

July 29, 2009

It was perhaps no surprise to those of us in the equestrian world this weekend when Katie Price was seen taking to the lanes of Surrey in her new pink horse box! If the colour of the horse box does not give it away, then surely the logo sitting proudly on its side with [...]
